Celebrate the Brentwood Art Trail and the Platinum Jubilee with the Brentwood Bunting Project

The Brentwood Bunting Project: design bunting to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and be in with the chance of winning a £100 voucher!
Championing young creatives is something we’ve always been keen to do here at Blue Serif. We’re also a big supporter of the local community, which is why, when we were approached to take part in the 2022 Brentwood Art Trail, we wanted to create another piece of community art.
So what better way to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 70th Platinum Jubilee and this year’s Art Trail theme than with that very British tradition of bunting? Get creative and download the template here!
Championing young creatives
From work experience programmes to careers conventions, we’ve always supported young creative talent in all its forms. We’re really passionate about helping young designers and creatives find their path in life, as well as build a portfolio to go out into the job world with. As such we’ve taken on many work experience students over the years, as well as apprentices who have gone on to be important members of the Blue Serif team.
When it came to this year’s Brentwood Art Trail submission therefore, we wanted to involve young people where possible. As such, we are reaching out to schools and local children to help us to create our 2022 Brentwood Art Trail piece, as well as help Brentwood celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
Championing community art
But this year’s Art Trail project isn’t just about young people. Being heavily involved in the Brentwood community, channelling community creativity through the Brentwood Art Trail is a great collaborative creative project for us to be involved with. We love bringing the people of Brentwood together to create a piece of artwork which reflects the strong sense of community we have in the borough. In the previous two years we have created a collaborative map of Brentwood, the #MyBrentwoodArtTrail Wall, as well as the #DiscoverOurBrentwood mural, which showcased photography submitted by local people during lockdown.
This year’s piece of artwork will yet again showcase the talents of the people in Brentwood, so whether you are young or perhaps not-so-young, we’d love you to be involved. There is so much creative talent in and around Brentwood, and we would welcome designs in any medium for our piece. From photography to painting, drawing to knitting, get involved and help us to celebrate the jubilee and the Art Trail.
Get creative for the Brentwood Bunting Project!
With the Brentwood Art Trail starting the weekend of the long bank holiday weekend in June, this year’s theme had to be Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. With this in mind, we yet again want the community to get involved with our piece of work, not just by submitting artwork to be included but also by using the artwork created during the Trail itself.
As part of this year’s Brentwood Art Trail and to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we’re asking people in and around Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone to create a design for bunting which will be used throughout the Art Trail. All designs submitted will appear as part of a digital piece of artwork at Brentwood Theatre, and certain designs will also be chosen to create cool Instagram filters, available at the various Art Trail venues, for people to use on their Instagram Stories. We’re excited to see how the collaborative piece will be used to showcase the beauty of Brentwood through social media.
To take part in this year’s collaborative art piece, all you have to do is simply download the bunting template, which is available here, and create your chosen design. Once complete submit it to arttrail@blueserif21.wpengine.com by 20th May 2022 to be included in the project and be in with the chance of winning a £100 voucher!
Celebrate with the Brentwood Bunting Project and the Brentwood Art Trail
Whether you submit a design for the Brentwood Bunting Project, or simply have some fun with the Instagram filters created from the submissions, we hope you’ll enjoy and get involved with this year’s Brentwood Art Trail. There will be plenty of events taking place during the trail which will also allow you to explore your creativity, and if you take any pictures with our filters, don’t forget to tag us on Instagram, @blueserif, and Brentwood Art Trail, @bwdarttrail. We can’t wait to see your creativity!
Brentwood Art Trail will run from 4th – 26th June at selected locations in Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone. Please see the event brochure or http://www.brentwoodarttrail.co.uk for more details.
