A Dozen Days of Donations

Posted on November 28, 2022, by Nicola Lighterness

Here at Blue Serif we’re delighted to be spending our first Christmas in our new home at the Shenfield Creative Hub. As is our tradition, each Christmas we like to help our local community, and to mark the occasion of now being in Shenfield, this year we’re supporting a Shenfield based charity, the Daily Bread Café, through our Dozen Days of Donations.

Sheriff on the Shelf…with a twist!

It has become Blue Serif tradition that rather than send Christmas cards, we support a local charity at Christmas time, with the help of our cheeky little company mascot, The Blue Sheriff.  In previous years we’ve supported very worthy causes including Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, SNAP Charity and Brentwood Theatre through our Sheriff on the Shelf and Sheriff at the Show campaigns.

This year, our Dozen Days of Donations (based on the 12 Days of Christmas) is designed to support the essential work of the Daily Bread Café in Hutton. Established in 2018, The Daily Bread Café supports people at crisis point who need food and other items urgently and, sadly, the organisation is seeing a big increase in demand as the cost of living crisis escalates.

Twelve days of donations to the Daily Bread Café

For this year’s campaign, and in order to support the vital work of the Daily Bread Café, we will be donating various food items, in line with the 12 Days of Christmas. In addition, we’re asking a dozen generous businesses in Shenfield to provide foodstuffs and other essential goods, either through buying the food themselves, or donating money to the equivalent value.

Take a look at our Dozen Days of Donations graphic below for an idea of the kind of items we’ve donated, and our friends at the Daily Bread Café have also provided the below list of items they are urgently in need of.

Get involved with A Dozen Days of Donations

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Shenfield based companies who have offered donations so far; between us all and through the wonderful work of the Daily Bread Café we will really be supporting those in need this Christmas.

If you’d like to get involved, there are plenty more items required by the Daily Bread Café. You can drop off any items you wish to donate to the Blue Serif office within the Create Hub Shenfield, Mondays – Fridays, 9am – 5pm. We’d love as many people as possible to get involved with our Dozen Days of Donations to give those in need who are using the Daily Bread Café a much merrier Christmas.
