Discover Our Brentwood through the Brentwood Art Trail

Posted on June 14, 2021, by Kieran Walker

Having made Brentwood our home for the past 5 years, we know just how much creativity there is in our beautiful borough.

It has always been part of our ethos to champion local creativity, and we love discovering the hidden talents of people within our local network. And this is why we’re firm champions of the Brentwood Art Trail.

This year, we’re once again supporting the Brentwood Art Trail creatively through the design of the event brochure, but we’re also really pleased to be exhibiting again as part of the 2021 trail. We’ll be showcasing the creativity of the people in and around Brentwood through our piece of collaborative community art, Discover Our Brentwood.

After all, we have so much vibrancy, so much beauty and so many places of interest on our doorstep, it’s easy to draw inspiration from our surrounds, even in the most difficult of times.

Showcasing the creativity in Brentwood

Back after a brief hiatus in 2020 (thanks, global pandemic!), the Art Brentwood Trail is once again ready to showcase all of the art and creativity that the borough has to offer. From schools and community groups through to individual artists (and not forgetting your favourite local creative agency, either!), there are plenty of different artists and types of artists involved in this year’s trail.

We love that the Brentwood Art Trail is open to so many different people; art should be for everyone, and all of us have that creative spark within us. One of our favourite roles as local champions of creativity is fanning the flames of that spark and helping people’s creativity burst forth. In 2019, we really enjoyed encouraging local people to get creative and make their mark on the #MyBrentwoodArtTrail Wall. The finished chalk drawing is still on display in the Baytree Centre, and it really encapsulates the many different groups, businesses and people in Brentwood who unleashed their creativity on the drawing.

And in a year that has shown us so deeply how important community is to us all, we’re happy to be creating a piece of collaborative community art for 2021, ready to bring that creative community spark to life again.

Brentwood’s creativity during lockdown

Over the past year, we’ve noticed just how much people’s creativity has come to the fore. Being in lockdown, not having anywhere to go or anything to do has often meant that people have tried their hands at new creative ventures. On top of this, many of us have documented the past year photographically, as we all look to record this moment in history. So what better way to showcase the community’s creativity than by using these photographs to celebrate all that is good in and around Brentwood?

Even after a year in lockdown – indeed, especially after a year in lockdown – the people of Brentwood have risen to the challenge and sent us their snaps, ready for us to create a beautiful photographic mural which aims to Discover Our Brentwood.

Discover Our Brentwood through the Brentwood Art Trail

The Discover Our Brentwood mural will be on display at the Baytree Centre from 3rd July 2021. We hope it inspires many more people to get creative, either through taking snaps and simply sharing them on social media (don’t forget to use the #BwdArtTrail2021 hashtag!) or through one of the many other avenues of creativity that the borough has to offer.

Don’t forget that the Art Trail itself has many events taking place which will also allow you to explore your creativity. You can find out more information about the various Walks and Talks and creative events via the art trail’s website,  http://www.brentwoodarttrail.co.uk.

As for Blue Serif, we’re thrilled to be involved in the Brentwood Art Trail again this year. After all, creativity is at the heart of everything that we do, whether we’re working to creatively elevate brands and businesses, or whether we are promoting the creativity of the community of Brentwood.

Brentwood Art Trail will run from 3rd – 18th July 2021 at selected locations in Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone. Please see the event brochure or http://www.brentwoodarttrail.co.uk for more details.
