As an independent business ourselves, we are always very keen to support other independent businesses. Therefore, when we were asked by Brentwood Borough Council and the Brentwood Business Partnership to devise and deliver a campaign to promote independent businesses in the borough, we were very happy to step in.
As such, and working in conjunction with key stakeholders from local businesses, we created a multifaceted campaign with a focus on digital delivery, to really push the message that shopping independently has a wide variety of economical and community based benefits.

Having created an ident for the campaign which showcases the variety of independent businesses in the borough, the main focus of the campaign was then built around social media.
We undertook the large task of photographing the teams from every independent business that signed up to the campaign: a total of 44 businesses in Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone. With this photography, personalised social media posts were created, which were to be prefaced with a suite of posts outlining the benefit of supporting independent businesses.
Coupled with print and website assets for Brentwood Borough Council, lots of noise and support for local businesses on social media over the ‘Independents Day’ weekend of 4th July 2023, with scope to expand the campaign in years to come.
